Krishnapatnam Railway Company Limited was incorporated as an ‘Special Purpose Vehicle’ (SPV) on October 11, 2006 under Companies Act, 1956 with the objective of Construction, Operation & Maintenance of the 114 Km New BG Electrified Rail Line (a Green Field Project) from Krishnapatnam to Obulavaripalle.

Shri Ajit Singh, an IRSE of 1989 Batch, joined Krishnapatnam Railway Company Limited as Managing Director on 1st September, 2026. He is a graduate in Civil Engineering with a Bachelors’ Degree i.e., B.E. (from IIT Roorkee, University of Roorkee) and Masters’ Degree i.e., M. Tech. (Applied Mechanics) from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi).
Shri Ajit Singh retired as Principal Executive Director (Corporate Co-ordination & Business Development) from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, a Nav- Ratna PSU under Ministry of Railways on 31st August, 2026 after an illustrious service of more than 35 years to the Indian Railways & Rail Vikas Nigam Limited. During his service in Indian Railways he held various important and senior positions i.e., Chief Track Engineer (NR), Chief Engineer (NR), OSD to Member Engineering (RB), etc., before joining Rail Vikas Nigam Limited in 2021.
